Its been quite an eventful weekend in music. Cardi B exceeded expectations with the release of her debut album, which went Gold the first day it dropped. It spawned singles like “Bodak Yellow”, “Bartier Cardi”, and “Be Careful.” On the other hand, Drake uplifted women with his new record, “Nice For What.” Which sampled Lauryn Hill’s “Ex-Factor,” just like Bardi’s, “Be Careful.”
This weekend’s music release further showcased Lauryn’s impact in Hip Hop, two decades later. I created the list below of 12 songs that sampled “Ex-Factor” to pay homage to the timeless hit:
“Be Careful” – Cardi B
“Nice For What” – Drake
“Money Over Suckas” – Lil B
“Til the Morning” – Kehlani
“Show Me” – Omarion, Jeremih
“X Factor” – PNB Rock, A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie
“Her Room (Marvin’s Room)” – Teyana Taylor
“Dear Summer Sixteen” – Dvsn
“My Song” – Rapsody, Mela Machinko
“This is Crazy” – Charlie Clips
