Celebrity Chef Anthony Bourdain Found Dead at Age 61 in France

Anthony Bourdain, celebrity chef and explorer of all parts unknown CNN series host, has tragically died at the age of 61.

Bourdain, the star of a series called Parts Unknown, that just last month launched its 11th season on CNN, was reportedly found dead and unresponsive in his hotel room in Strasbourg France.  His close friend, French chef, Eric Ripert, found him around the time when he and the production staff were just about to begin another day of work.

CNN has now confirmed Bourdain’s death and blamed the cause of death to be suicide. Brian Stelter mentioned that the news network waited until Bourdain’s family had been informed before sharing the tragic news.

“It is with extraordinary sadness we can confirm the death of our friend and colleague, Anthony Bourdain,” the network said in a statement. “His love of great adventure, new friends, fine food and drink and the remarkable stories of the world made him a unique storyteller. His talents never ceased to amaze us and we will miss him very much. Our thoughts and prayers are with his daughter and family at this incredibly difficult time.”
