It’s Another Movie Night… ‘The Bobby Brown Story’ Is Finally Here

The Bobby Brown Story finally premieres this Tuesday, September 4th and 5th at 9pm Eastern time on BET. It’s a two part, 4-hour miniseries that chronicles the “King of R&B.” The story will highlight Bobby’s life from growing up on the hard streets of Boston, to his role in the ’80s boy band New Edition through his solo success and marriage to pop icon Whitney Houston.

In addition to Bobby’s exit from New Edition through his solo success we will also get the a glimpse of his rumored affair with Janet Jackson. The story which is written by Abdul Williams and executive produced by Jesse Collins both reprise their New Edition Story gigs. The Bobby Brown Story will pick up where the New Edition biopic left off.

Woody McClain, the actor who played the R&B/pop singer in BET’s miniseries The New Edition Story, will reprise his role in the network’s two-part followup.

In addition, Donshea Hopkins, who played Raina St. Patrick in Starz’s crime drama Power, will play the role of Brown’s late daughter, Bobbi Kristina. Luke James, Algee Smith, and Tank will reprise their roles as Johnny Gill, Ralph Tresvant and Jheryl Busby from The New Edition Story.
