Chance The Rapper is making history along with his Grammy-winning reputation, he can add Emmy winning to that list. Last week, he earned his second Emmy nomination for his Saturday Night Live song, “Come Back Barack.” It was recognized for Outstanding Original Music and Lyrics at the 2018 Emmy’s.
The song was originally written by Eli Brueggeman and performed by the rapper back in November 2017. The 1990’s styled song featured Kenan Thompson and Chris Redd singing and paying homage to former President Barack Obama as a slideshow of his pictures appeared on the screen.
He announced the nomination via Twitter, expressing how ecstatic he was:
Thank you @nbcsnl for getting me another @TheEmmys nomination for the second year in a row! Being with you guys for a week is an indescribable experience that stays with you forever and with or without the glory of an Emmy nod, the funnest shit of all time. @officialkenan

This is actually his second time being nominated for an Emmy for another Obama themed song on Saturday Night Live.
