Earlier this month, a white woman named Teresa Klein falsely accused a 9-year-old white boy of groping her in a Brooklyn corner store.
Klein, better known as #CornerstoreCaroline, has since gone viral after surveillance footage revealed that the victim, Jeremiah Harvey, barely even grazed her, TIME revealed. Rather, the two apparently came in contact after Harvey’s bag just brushed her rear as he was strolling through the store with his mom and his sister.
“I want the cops right here now,” Klein can be seen and heard yelling in a video taken by a bystander later shared on social media, The New York Timesreported. “I was sexually assaulted by a child.”
After tossing out the allegation, Klein got into a heated dispute with the young boy’s mother and you could see him crying.
While Klein asserted she called the police, authorities never arrived to the scene and there is no evidence that Klein called the police, as indicated by a NYPD representative, TIME revealed.
Since the occurrence, Klein has apologized saying, “I was wrong. Young man, I don’t know your name, but I’m sorry,” Klein said in a video posted on Facebook.
In spite of her endeavor to offer some kind of reparation, Jeremiah is still quite shaken up over the horrible experience.
Amid a weepy sit-down with ABC News with his mom, Someko Bellille, Jeremiah said he “felt humiliated because of the way she was acting.”
Following his sit-down, Jeremiah clarified during an interview in New York that he doesn’t excuse Klein and stated, “I think she was crazy.”
Be that as it may, he has had a difference in heart. Jeremiah uncovered he does now acknowledge her apology. “I hope she knows I didn’t do anything to her,” he said.
