Craig Mack Dead at 46

Craig Mack, 46, has reportedly passed away last night due to heart failure in a hospital near his South Carolina home.

The Long Island rapper rose to prominence and helped put Bad Boy on the map with his infectious 1994 hit, “Flava in Ya Ear.”

Mack’s homie and producer, Alvin Toney, who worked on his debut project, Project: Funk Da World, confirmed the sad news with the New York Daily News. Toney told the Daily News that he last met with Mack as recently as last week, and he told him that he was dealing with an unspecified illness. “He was prepared for whatever comes, to go home to the Lord,” Toney said. “He was prepared to do that. He wasn’t scared. He was ready.”

Mack had a wife and two adult children.
