It’s no surprise that President Donald Trump isn’t a fan of Nike’s 30th anniversary “Just Do It” ad campaign starring Colin Kaepernick.
The Prez, who’s passionately against NFL players who kneel during the National Anthem, tells the Daily Caller he doesn’t support Nike’s endorsement. He says “I think it’s a terrible message that they’re sending and the purpose of them doing it, maybe there’s a reason for them doing it … but I think as far as sending a message, I think it’s a terrible message and a message that shouldn’t be sent. There’s no reason for it.”
Trump admits that Nike is a tenant in one of his NYC buildings, and he earns a lot of money in rent income from the super sports apparel company, but he adds that they have the right to align with whoever they want.
He continued, “It is what this country is all about, that you have certain freedoms to do things that other people think you shouldn’t do, but I personally am on a different side of it.”
People are big mad about Nike’s 30th commemoration of its “Just Do It” slogan and they’ve gotten backlash. The National Association of Police Organizations is calling for a Nike boycott. On the other hand, many public figures and influencers have shared their support of the campaign, including Tom Brady.
