Ed Sheeran has collaborated with the likes o Tory Lanez, The Weeknd, Eminem and Justin Bieber. In any case, there is one collab that despite everything he hasn’t pulled off right now, and that is with Drake. Considering both of their superstar statuses in music, it’s kind of shocking that they haven’t teamed up yet. But the British singer told Entertainment Weekly that he wants to change that soon.
Prior to saying he would like to work with Drizzy, Sheeran shared that he’s looking to get some marketing tips from the 6 God for his next album release. “I kind of learned from looking at how Drake does it. Drake puts out these albums that are huge but then in between he sticks out projects and however big the project is, it doesn’t really matter because it’s not the album, if that makes sense. It just clears the air for the next album.”
Wanting to accomplish something somewhat more calm after the colossal achievement of his last collection, Sheeran appears to be more keen on investigating what else he’s equipped for outside of pop. Be that as it may, more than anything, he just is by all accounts a huge Drake fan. To such an extent, truth be told, that he says he would love to work with him. “I feel like at some point, me and Drake need to do something,” he explained. “I feel like that has to happen at some point.”
With respect to why that hasn’t happened as of now, Sheeran stated, “I mean I’ve been on tour for god knows how long and he’s been on tour for god knows how long and he’s constantly releasing stuff. I just think at some point those two worlds have to meet, and I don’t know how or what it sounds like, but I feel like it’s inevitable… I’ve only met him a couple of times. I don’t even know if it’s in the cards. I’d like to think he has the same mindset as me.”
Ed Sheeran and Drake are undoubtedly two of the best musicians of our time who both continue to dominate Billboard charts time and time again so imagine if they joined forces. “Like, if it doesn’t happen, it’s not going to be the end of my world,” he adds. “But I just think it’d be interesting.”
