Em sent out the invitation on Instagram for his fans to exclusively preview his upcoming battle rap film, Bodied. “DETROIT! Come through and get #BODIED! I bought out the theater, so tickets on me for the Friday + Saturday @BodiedMovie 6:40pm screenings at the AMC 30 in Sterling Heights. First come first serve. Link in bio for tickets elsewhere,” he wrote as his caption.
Bodied, which is produced by the “Kamikaze” rapper, portrays a graduate student named Adam Merkin who completed a thesis paper about battle rapping and decided to pursue the sport. As the film progresses, Merkin distances hisself from his peers to figure his life out. The film’s cast includes Dumbfounded, ATL‘s Jackie Long, The Avengers’, Walter Perez, The Breakfast Club’s, Charlamagne Tha God and more.
Production is being handled by Em’s manager and Def Jam Records CEO, Paul Rosenburg, Adi Shankar and Jil Hardin. The screenplay is written by former battle rapper, Kid Twist, who is otherwise called Alex Larsen.
Eminem is also focused on his music besides this forthcoming film. A month ago, he released his visual for “Venom” off his tenth studio collection. He is also chipping away at a joint project with Joyner Lucas called, ADHD.
