Unfortunately, ESPN wants everyone to have a little bit of Alex Rodriguez.

In a press release on Tuesday, the network revealed that Rodriguez will be the executive producer and host of a new four-part series called “Pivot with Alex Rodriguez.” This new show will air exclusively on ESPN and ESPN Deportes during the MLB regular season.

Rodriguez, the former Yankees player, will conduct in-depth, one-on-one interviews with a current or former star athlete struggling through some type of adversity. The interview will be conducted in an environment appropriate to each athlete’s personal story.

Many people are glad to hear the news especially, ESPN Deportes Vice President Freddy Rolon stated that Rodriguez would be the perfect match to be the host because of his success as a media personality.

“He is an exceptional communicator who will be able to conduct candid and informative interviews with athletes about their own public trials and tribulations.” Rolon added.

Rodriguez stated “Change can be good, and even necessary, for athletes facing their most difficult moments. However, I know firsthand how challenging it can be to turn the lens inward while living life in the public arena. I’m looking forward to uncovering personal stories the world deserves to hear, while sharing the lessons I’ve learned — sometimes through the hard way.”

We all know about good, old AROD’s multiple steroid scandals during his long 22-year career. This is something that disappointed millions of fans all over the world.

He admitted in 2009 to using steroids while playing the Texas Rangers from 2001-03 which ultimately lead him to being suspended for an entire season.

Rodriguez is also currently tangled into an ongoing legal battle with his EX brother-in-law over a real estate company that they started together.

ESPN sure knows how to pick a healthy and happy host.
