The American Flight Association (AFA) released a statement Wednesday for “Flight Safety During Political Violence“. The statement came after MAGA supporters violent protest at Capitol Hill.
AFAs’ statement is pushing for participants in Wednesday’s riot on the Capitol to be banned from future flights. Furthermore, the statement reads:
“Their violent and seditious actions at the Capitol today create further concern about their departure from the DC area. Acts against our democracy, our government, and the freedom we claim as Americans must disqualify these individuals from the freedom of flight.”
The union represents almost 50,000 flight attendants at 17 different airlines. In addition to their restrictions, the union wants to ensure the safety of employees and provide support to members and their families. Tweets have also shown support for the matter.

The riot on Wednesday led to 5 deaths which also includes a police officer and a 14-year air force veteran. Furthermore, arrests are increasing while social media posts have been revealing identities of the pro-Tump protestors.
