Over the Labor Day end of the week, actor Geoffrey Owens was disgraced after a photograph of him packing food at a New Jersey Trader Joe’s surfaced on the Daily Mail and other media outlets. He was immediately defended by industry heavyweights such as Nicki Minaj and Tyler Perry. Speaking of Tyler Perry, the director has offered Geoffrey Owens a gig on the “Have and Have Nots”.
Tyler Perry said, “#GeoffreyOwens I’m about to start shootings OWN’s number one drama next week!” Perry wrote. “Come join us!!! I have so much respect for people who hustle between gigs. The measure of a true artist.”
Geoffrey Owens has acted in a couple of TV shows such as The Blacklist, Divorce, and Lucifer. He is mostly known for his role as Bill Cosby’s son in law on ” The Cosby Show”. Unfortunately between gigs — he had to make ends meet by working at Trader Joe’s. Prior to today, Owens appeared on Good Morning America with Robin Roberts where he said he was “really devastated” at first, when early news accounts portrayed his job as a fall from grace. ”
