George Lopez Charged With Battery Following Scuffle With Trump Supporter

George Lopez has been charged amid a scuffle with a pro-Trump supporter who was reportedly harassing him at a Hooters in New Mexico.

Law enforcement sources told Fox News that the comedian was charged with misdemeanor battery over a conflict that is said to have happened after he supposedly tried to fight a man who was recording him at a Las Cruces Hooters.

The incident went down back in October when the actor was in Las Cruces recording a religious motion picture, Walking With Herb.

TMZ obtained a video of an unidentified man who began hectoring Lopez with remarks about his political views and shouting, “MAGA.”

The altercation was clearly pre-meditated because you can see the man sitting tight in the restaurant for Lopez to enter in the beginning of the video. “Here comes my boy, George.”

When Lopez saw the man, it was on sight. The 57-year-old at that point grabs the phone out of the man’s hand and snatches him. “George wants to fight me, George wants to fight me!” the man repeated in the video.

Following the episode, the unidentified man addressed TMZ and said the fight begun when he went up to Lopez to request a photograph. He claimed Lopez at that point snatched his telephone, however in the end gave it back. The individual, who claims that he’s a Democrat, says that he was trying to defuse the situation by cracking a tasteless joke. “On the count of 3, say, ‘Make America Great Again.'”

The entertainer has been extremely vocal in the past about his dislike for the president and his administration. He recently used a water bottle to “urinate” on Trump’s Hollywood Walk of Fame star. A year ago, he was allegedly booed off the phase at a philanthropy occasion for his jokes about the president.
