Kanye West Files to Trademark Yeezy Cosmetic Brand

Words by Andre Kettle

Just when you thought the Kardashians had the beauty brand on lock, Kanye West looks to join in on the competition.

Recently Kanye filed a trademark for beauty, skincare, and fragrance products including “makeup, false eyelashes, facial masks, nail polish, moisturizers, bath gels, body oils, shaving cream, hair care products and perfumes,” as well as deodorant, toothpaste, and scented pines cones *double takes look at list*

This wasn’t Kanye’s first beauty trademark. Back in 2017, he filed a trademark for Donda Cosmetics, named after his late mother who passed away in 2007. He also signed a licensing deal alongside Rihanna and JAY-Z to launch a line of perfume with Parlux back in April of 2009.

Ye was the only one of the three to whose scent didn’t really pop off. According to Harpersbazaar, apparently the deal fell through at some point before Parlux was merged with Perfumania in 2012.

Yeezy is looking to join his wife, Kim Kardashian-West’s KKW Fragrance Brands, and his sister in-law’s Kylie Jenner’s, Kylie Cosmetics, as part of the growing beauty business.
