Kendrick Lamar to Star on ‘Power’ This Sunday

Kendrick Lamar Announces The Production of His Final TDE Album: 'There's Beauty In Completion'

You definitely don’t want to miss this week’s episode of Power on Sunday, July 29 because Kendrick Lamar is set to make a special guest appearance.

TV Line reports that most details on the rapper’s role is kept tightly under wraps. All we know is that Kung Fu Kenny will be sharing scenes with 50 Cent’s, Kanan from the promo clip below, which teases an “unlikely friend” of Kanan’s showing up, and this can basically just mean Lamar.

What we do know, be that as it may, is the scene title—”Happy Birthday”— and it’s abstract. Per TV Line, the scene will see “the St. Patricks gathered to celebrate Tariq’s first birthday since Raina’s death. Tasha, meanwhile, finds a shoulder to cry on in Terry Silver; Ghost begins acting reckless after learning that Dre is ready to replace him in the legitimate world; and Kanan and Tariq bond over their shared mistrust of Ghost.”

“Kendrick is a once-in-a-generation talent and [series creator] Courtney [A. Kemp], 50, and I felt it would be exciting to create a role for him in Power,” executive producer Mark Canton said in a statement. “Everyone involved is thrilled to have him join the family.”

This won’t be K-Dot’s first time on the small screen, as we’ve generally expected his appearance on some late night shows and honors functions, yet per his IMDb page, Sunday’s scene will check the rapper’s first time showing up on an anecdotal TV program in the U.S.
