The former personal assistant of Kevin Hart is being charged after he spent $1 million on lavish gifts for himself.

On Wednesday, the former personal assistant of Kevin Hart was arrested after allegedly defrauding the comedian out of nearly $1.2 million.
Dylan Jason Syer was hired by Hart in 2015. Now, Syer is being charged in Queens Supreme Court, New York. Charges are including grand larceny, first and second degree, criminal possession of stolen property in the first and second degree, as well as identity theft in the first degree.
Syer, 29, allegedly used Hart’s credit cards to help fund his lavish lifestyle. The Queens District attorney on the case is Melinda Katz. She says that Syer used Kevin Hart’s credit cards and made over a million dollars in unauthorized purchases. The purchases took place between October 2017 and February 2019.
Initially, Syer decided to be slick and make small authorized purchases for the actor. Then, the personal assistant took the spending to another level. From making extravagant purchases for himself to transfer large sums of Hart’s money into his personal bank accounts. Syer has bought Louis Vuitton bags and “at least 5 Patek Phillipe watches valued at more than $400,000.”
Following Syer’s arrest, investigators searched his home. While there, they recovered around $250,000 in cash and other items.
