As the oldest girl of the most sexualized member of America’s most sexualized, North West was born into public scrutiny. It’s obvious that she’s a prime target for judgment in her child celebrity status but are her parents making things worse?
They allow the young lady to wear crop tops, makeup, and other revealing outfits. The family isn’t strangers to children wearing revealing outfits, shown here in this childhood picture of Kendall Jenner. The question is, are Kardashian-West not being cautious of how North’s appearance can be seen as over-sexualized for a child or is it the public over-sexualizing her due to biased opinions. A lot of the commentary is mostly the same. Everyone saying North is adorable but the things she’s wearing may be a bit “grown” for her age.
Look whom you’re talking to though. The family that spun a sex tape into a show. The family that let 16-year-old Kylie Jenner start her plastic surgery journey and date fully grown father and rapper Tyga. The family that’s known for being half and fully naked online consistently. It’s apparent they are not ones to shy away from that narrative. Yes women should be able to wear what they want and express themselves how they feel but the key is in the statement; Women. North is a 5-year-old wearing crop tops, eye shadow, and bold lipstick colors.
