La La Anthony Says the Origin of 50 Cent’s Phrase ‘Get the Strap’ Appears on ‘Power’

Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson is using the popularity of Power to his advantage especially when it comes to marketing. His new, popular catchphrase, “Get the strap,” has everyone screaming every time he hashtags it at the end of his posts. Thanks to Lala Anthony, if you didn’t know before, now you know that the line is actually from Power.

The phrase is out of control. It has been added to Urban Dictionary and it has been the reason for 50 Cent’s new $1 million deal with Viacom’s Bellator subsidiary. Everything about our beloved Petty King is executed to perfection when it comes to his business blueprint.

In a recent interview with Lala, Desus and Mero asked where the saying originated from and she revealed, “You’ll hear how it started [on Power]. The moment where Kanan says it on the show is such a moment that you’ll think, ‘Ah, that’s where it started.'”

When asked how she felt about Jackson, she had nothing but positive things to say but she also didn’t forget to mention to tread carefully, “He’s one of the smartest, nicest and kindest guys I know. Just stay on his good side and you won’t get attacked on Instagram. He’s one of the few industry people when they say they’re going to do something, they’re going to do it.”
