At the age of 26, Mac Miller has passed away this Friday afternoon of an apparent overdose as reported by TMZ.
Law enforcement sources informed TMZ that Miller was found Friday at around noon at his San Fernando Valley home and was pronounced dead at the scene.
It was a male friend who placed a 911 call from Mac’s home to inform the authorities.
Miller has been dealing with substance abuse issues for quite some time now and it was even something that played a part in the breakup with Ariana Grande.
Back in May, the rapper crashed his G-Wagon slamming into utility pole back and was arrested for DUI and hit and run. He fled the scene he later confessed at his home to the police. He drove while being 2 times the legal limit.
The general public blamed Ariana for Mac’s DUI, and she responded to the everyone by saying, “I am not a babysitter or a mother and no woman should feel that they need to be. I have cared for him and tried to support his sobriety & prayed for his balance for years.” She added, “Of course I didn’t share about how hard or scary it was while it was happening but it was.”
A profile of Mac was just published on Thursday by Vulture. Nevertheless, Mac stated that he had a lot of pressure growing up in the public eye. He said, “A lot of times in my life I’ve put this pressure to hold myself to the standard of whatever I thought I was supposed to be, or how I was supposed to be perceived. And it creates pressure.”
Mac Miller was going to be on tour next month.
We send out our love and prayers to his friends and family.
RIP Mac Miller, you will be missed.
