Michelle Obama to Host Virtual Children’s Book Reading Series

Michelle Obama 'Becoming' Documentary Set to Release on Netflix Next Month

Our forever First Lady, Michelle Obama, continues to serve this country three years after her husband’s presidency ended.

She is set to launch an online children’s book reading series called “Mondays with Michelle Obama,” according to CNN. Obama partnered with PBS Kids and book publisher, Penguin Random House, for the virtual educational program to support the abrupt distant learning iniitiative in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The series will be a part of PBS Kids’ “Read-Along” and Penguin Random House’s “Read Together, Be Together” literacy initiatives. The weekly series is set to premiere on April 20th, and will have four episodes.

“As a little kid, I loved to read aloud. And when I became a parent, I found such joy in sharing the magic of storytelling with my own children—and then later, as First Lady, with kids everywhere,” Michelle Obama said in a statement.

On Twitter Obama shared that she’s “thrilled” to be apart of the series and wants to give parents a “much-needed break.” Michelle Obama

I’m thrilled to share some of my favorite children’s books and give kids an opportunity to practice their reading (while giving families a much-needed break!).”
