Michael Bloomberg Pledges $100 Million to Historically Black Medical Schools

Mike Bloomberg officially launched his democratic Presidential bid against Donald Trump.

The former NYC Mayor who is also a former Republican said his campaign is centered around unseating the current POTUS who “represents an existential threat to our country and our values.”

“Defeating Donald Trump — and rebuilding America — is the most urgent and important fight of our lives. And I’m going all in,” Mr. Bloomberg said. “I offer myself as a doer and a problem solver — not a talker. And someone who is ready to take on the tough fights — and win.”

Bloomberg branded himself as a “new choice for Democrats” on a website that went live on Sunday. His bid definitely comes as a surprise to his rivals, and everyone for that matter, because he entered relatively late.

The billionaire already reserved $35 million in airtime for television commercials outlining his biography and political agenda. The other campaign budgets are a fraction of that. So the next episode of the reality series, This is America, is going to be interesting.

Mike Bloomberg, 77, faces a number of obstacles other than his late entry. He was the driving force behind the unjust stop and frisk policy which disproportionately placed Black and brown New Yorkers behind bars. He has recently apologized for the invasive policy but his victims aren’t impressed. So now he has to go “all in” to secure the powerful Black vote.

Senator Bernie Sanders of Vermont accused Mr. Bloomberg of “trying to buy an election.”
