Nick Cannon Returns To Host ‘Wild ‘N Out’ After Apologizing

Rumors of Nick Cannon's 7th Child With 'Wild N Out' Girl Circulate the Internet

Nick Cannon is back as the host of “Wild ‘N Out,” after ViacomCBS fired him over anti-Semitic remarks. Nick is set to return to the VH1 show when season 16 resumes.

The VH1 sketch and improv comedy series picked up three additional seasons before Cannon made highly controversial comments.  The comments happened during an episode of his podcast Cannon’s Class. Now, the Masked Singer emcee’s is returning after being fired for making anti-Semitic remarks last July.

Afterward, Cannon finally apologizes. Additionally, he held private meetings with leading members of the Jewish community. During the meeting, he shares that he’s been working on himself. He shares how he’s educating himself. Explaining that he had learned exactly how and why his remarks were incorrect and offensive.

While speaking with ET, a spokesperson for MTV speaks on bring the former host back to “Wild ‘N Out.”

“Nick has not only apologized and taken responsibility for his comments, but he has also worked to educate himself and others through engagement with Jewish leaders and on his platforms,” an MTV Entertainment Group spokesperson told ET. “Those efforts are of the utmost importance and that’s why we have invited him to rejoin our team.”

During the hour-long podcast chat, Cannon and Richard “Professor Griff” Griffin, a retired Public Enemy member, argued that Black people are the true Hebrews. According to the two, Jews have assumed black people’s identity. Eventually, the discussion turned to skin color.

“And I’m going to say this carefully,” Cannon says before his next statement. Nick is heard claiming that people lacking a certain amount of melanin are “a little less.” He goes on to state that those without dark skin have a “deficiency.” Additionally, the lack of melanin caused them in the past to act out violently.

Nick Cannon Apologizes

Shortly after, Cannon shared a long apology, taking responsibility for his hurtful comments. He starts by addressing his “Jewish sisters and brothers.”

“I extend my deepest and most sincere apologies,” he says. He goes on apologizing “for the hurtful and divisive words” that he said. Furthermore, Nick acknowledges how the comments “reinforced the worst stereotypes.” He continues to explain how “ashamed of the uninformed and naïve place that these words came from.”

Included in his apology, Nick states that the video interview has been removed.

He also admits that there “is so much I have yet to learn.” Cannon expresses his gratitude to rabbis, community leaders, and institutions that reached out to him to “enlighten” him instead of scolding him. The apology concludes with him assuring his Jewish friends “that this is only the beginning of my education”

It seems as though his apology is sincere as well as educated. This isn’t so common nowadays with ‘cancel culture’ stunting reform and growth in people.
