Nicki Minaj’s Mother Reveals New Information Regarding her Son’s Case

Back in 2017, Nicki Minaj’s brother, Jelani Maraj, was convicted of sexually assaulting his 11-year-old step-daughter and is now facing 25 years to life in prison. Nicki has visited her brother, only in support of her mother, Carol Maraj, but has never publicly commented on the case.

Carol, on the other hand, is finally speaking out. On a recent episode of the Hip Hop Hood Report, she shared the news that the courts were supposedly trying to hide, claiming the evidence may have been tampered with by violating basic court mandates before the final decision was made.

“For a high profile case such as this, in my opinion, why didn’t Nassau County put these jurors away, sequestered somewhere so that a child’s father, a mother’s son would get a fair trial?” Maraj asked .”Why didn’t they do that… and make sure that this case was going to be tried fairly.”

Maraj continued on to say that the case was discussed outside of the courtroom and the jurors have already decided her son’s fate before the trial even began, with the determining factor being that Minaj was not present during the entire fiasco. The quotes are supposedly noted in the court’s transcripts.

“One of the jurors said, ‘I can’t wait to see his face when I bring him in guilty,’ and ‘that bastard this,’ people were talking. But we have the affidavits to prove that they were busy talking about his sister, why didn’t she take the stand, that means that he’s guilty. If his sister didn’t show up that means he was guilty. They totally ignored the evidence that there was no evidence to prove this man guilty. So they went by their own mind, by their own feelings, and they already had him guilty way before the trial ended.”
