An officer-involved shooting took place Sunday night (Sept 2) at the Del Mar Racetrack in San Diego during a concert before rapper Ice Cube was scheduled to go on.
According to witnesses and concertgoers, the crowd was getting impatient entering the venue for the performance. A person pulled out a gun and shot fire into the air, setting off a chaotic scene.
Cops say the shooter appeared at the track and went in to get tickets for the concert. When he was told there weren’t any tickets left for the concert, an argument followed and he fired several shots into the crowd. Officers reacted and returned fire. The shooter was transported to a neighborhood healing facility, cops say his condition is obscure and nobody else was harmed.
The shooting allegedly went down before Cube came out for his performance.
Del Mar Racetrack says the situation was contained, and Cube’s show is moving forward as scheduled.
