On Friday, Donald Trump said that he is rescheduling his first campaign rally in months to get this … only A DAY LATER! The reason being is that it won’t conflict with the Juneteenth observance of the end of slavery in the United States.

Trump tweeted on Friday, “Many of my African American friends and supporters have reached out to suggest that we consider changing the date out of respect for this Holiday.”

Donald scheduled his first rally since March for June 19th in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Black Leaders said it was offensive for him to pick that day and that specific place which was the site of a 1921 white-on-black attack.

In those series of tweets, Trump noted that there already had been 200,000 tickets requests for the event. In order to attend the rally, ALL tickets holders must sign a waiver acknowledging that they won’t sue the Trump campaign if they contract COVID-19 at the event.

In a press release, Oklahoma Gov. Kevin Stitt said on Wednesday that he is grateful Trump has chosen Tulsa as his first campaign stop since the coronavirus outbreak.

“We are honored President Trump accepted our invitation to our great state,” Stitt said. “The President is making Oklahoma his first campaign stop since March 2; and his visit here confirms Oklahoma is the national example in responsibly and safely reopening.”
