Tyga’s incredible year has placed him at the forefront of rap conversations again. The Los Angeles native is well in his tenure but he’s often slept on due to a few setbacks in the past.

In 2011, Tyga released “Rack City” and he was on top of the world. You couldn’t go to a club that year without hearing that song. That’s most likely when he met the mother of his son, Blac Chyna, who was the leading lady of the video. However, things started going down hill from there.

T-Raww began dating Kylie Jenner before she was legal and he was said to be in the “sunken place.”

His good ‘ol pal Chris Brown came in to save the day, like he always does, and collaborated with him on Fan of a Fan: The Album. The collection spawned the hit single, “Ayo,” which peaked at No. 21 on the Billboard charts. However, when Tyga tried to discharge a follow-up solo effort, The Gold Album, it only sold 2,000 units in its first week, marking his worst selling album to date.

The “Coconut Juice” rapper tried to keep up with the times and release a reggae-influenced record titled, “1 of 1,” but that didn’t move any needles. (By the looks of the leading lady, he was clearly going through the blues and missing Kylie Jenner around this time).

Fast forward to 2018 and Tyga is here to remind us that he is a certified hitmaker. On February 16th, he dropped off his sixth studio album, Kyoto, which was led by the hit single, “Taste” featuring Offset.

The infectious tune dominated the Summer, and was also released with a similar sounding tune “SWISH.” Tyga’s connection with producer, D.A. Doman, is clearly magic because they collaborated once again for his most recent single, “Dip” featuring Nicki Minaj.

Aside from going through a legal battle over unpaid royalties from Birdman and Young Money, and being in the center of the hairline implant conversation, Tyga has definitely earned the title of Comeback King of 2018.

Ever since the release of his first hit single, “Coconut Juice” back in 2008, Tyga has managed to produce numerous bangers “Rack City”, “Faded”, “Make It Nasty”, “Ayo”, “Taste”, “Swish”, and now “Dip.”

He has successfully redeemed himself this year and we look forward to seeing him win in the future.
