It’s been five years since Rihanna released any music, but on Nov 5th she just announced that she has music coming out. She’ll be releasing“Rih-Issue” of all eight of her albums in vinyl format. She posted a 70s inspired photo of her lying face-down on the floor filled with her vinyl albums on Instagram, with the captioned ‘Today’s kids will never know what vinyl is,’ they said! #TheRIHissue shoprihanna.com” Rihanna also uploaded a quick minute-long video of all the new record colors — yellow, light blue, clear, black, green, pink, and red — while a mashup of her greatest-hits played in the background.
Each vinyl record is priced differently, but they range from $100 to $140 dollars and come packaged with a newly-designed shirt or sweatshirt depending on the album. Though pre-sale begins today, the orders will not ship until November 11th.
The last time Rihanna released a collection of her albums was way back in 2016 when she dropped the Studio Album Vinyl Box. That project collected all eight of Rihanna’s albums in a sumptuous 15LP box set – five of which had never been made available on vinyl before, and all but one pressed on double-vinyl.
