Another former aide has come forward and accused New York Governor Andrew Cuomo of sexual harassment.
In less than a week, Charlotte Bennett is the second woman to come forward and detail what she describes as an inappropriate work environment.
Bennett told the New York Times that Cuomo made comments and asked questions that made her feel uncomfortable, and spoke about an instance when she was alone with him at the State Capitol last June.
The 25-year-old alleged that Cuomo questioned her about her sex life and asked if she was open to dating a man who is significantly older than her. Cuomo never made any advances to her,
Bennett left the administration in November.
The Sexual Harassment Working Group, made up of seven former state legislative staffers, is calling for the resignation of Andrew Cuomo in wake of the second sexual harassment allegation.
“ENOUGH,” said a statement from the group. “New York State has now lost the talents and ambition of yet another woman, whose safety and integrity were eliminated to serve a powerful man’s desires. Andrew Cuomo must resign now.”
This isn’t a good look for the New York Governor who was praised for his coronavirus briefings throughout the pandemic and was even encouraged by the public to run for President.
These allegations come right after Cuomo’s administration apologized for undercounting at least 50% of coronavirus-related deaths in residential nursing homes.
