Ashanti announced that she’s receiving her own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame during her performance at The New Millennium Tour at Prudential Center in New Jersey.
The singer serenaded the crowd with a slew of her classic hits including “Happy,” “Rain On Me,” and “Only U.” She was joined by Lloyd to singer their ballad, “Southside” and brought out Fabolous to perform “So Into You.”
Before performing “Foolish” Ashanti took the time out to thank her fans for helping her break a Guinness World Book Record by having the highest first-week sales for her self-titled debut album with 503,000 copies sold.
That’s when the singer’s DJ announced that she will also be honored with the Lady of Soul Award at the Soul Train Awards.
Ashanti followed up with the announcement of her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame before singing the Notorious B.I.G. sampled record.

Missy Elliott recently received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and dedicated the honor to the “Godmothers of Hip Hop.”
“I can kind of give this to my female MCs in Hip Hop, to my sisters in Hip Hop. I wanna say I love each and everyone of y’all. The ones that’s popping now, the ones that’s about to be popping,” said Missy Elliott. “But I want to give a big, big shoutout to the godmothers of this, and that is Queen Latifah, Monie Love, [MC] Sha-Rock, Angie Stone, Roxanne Shanté, Yo-Yo, MC Lyte, Salt-N-Pepa.”
