August Alsina Hints At Retirement: ‘These Last Couple Projects Are Likely To Be The Last You See [Me]’

It looks like August Alsina is hinting at his retirement with his recent Instagram post.

The singer previewed some unreleased music and said his next projects will probably be the “last” we hear from him.

“To all the loved 1’s who support me,” Alsina captioned the clip. “These last couple projects are likely to be the last you see/hear of August Alsina. W/ that said, it is my hope that we can enjoy each other while I’m here, on my last victory lap around the sun. I’ll strive to make it as nostalgic as possible for you w/ beautiful times and high vibes. With great love, always. – AA.”

What are your thoughts on the news of August Alsina’s retirement?

He released his debut album Testimony in 2014 via Def Jam then followed up with This Thing Called Life the next year. He dropped an EP in 2013 and went off the grid for six years until the release of the Forever And A Day EP, then the 2020 project, The Product III: State of Emergency.

While promoting his latest musical effort, the “I Luv This Shit” singer revealed that he had an affair with Jada Pinkett Smith with her husband Will Smith’s “blessing.”

Jada initially denied the affair then recanted her statement on an episode of the Red Table Talk with Will. The Internet had a field day when she described her affair with August as an “entanglement.”

“I was in a lot of pain, and I was very broken,” Pinkett-Smith said to her husband during a Red Table Talk last year. “In the process of that relationship, I definitely realized that you can’t find happiness outside of yourself. Luckily enough, you and I were also going through a process of healing in a much different manner. I would definitely say that we did everything that we could to get away from each other, only to realize that wasn’t possible.”
