Beanie Sigel Reveals Kanye West Promised Him $50M and 5% Stock For Creating 'Yeezy' Name

Beanie Sigel called Kanye West “Yeezy” during the Roc-a-Fella days, and the young producer took the moniker and built and fashion powerhouse with it.

Ye shared that he wanted to compensate the Philly emcee for his creativity during an appearance on Drink Champs.

“I still owe Beanie money and I’ve been trying to give him this money for a minute,” he said. “I’m like, ‘This man made up the name.’ It’s like the lady who made the Nike swoosh, Phil Knight made sure she was straight.”

Beanie Sigel made an appearance in his hometown and confirmed that Kanye did follow-up. “I got a phone call from the muthafucka the other day. He said Sig gon’ get $50 million and a five percent stock in Yeezy,” Beanie said in a video. “And I don’t know if n***as know, Yeezy’s did $1.7 billion last year.”

Ye said Beanie “embraced” him early in his career and allowed him to rock a State Property chain. He had nothing but good words for the “Feel It In The Air” rapper, but he didn’t hold back for John Legend and Big Sean who he said were being used by the Democrats and slammed for not supporting his Presidential run.
