Betty White’s death sent shockwaves through the entertainment world because many of us believed that the beloved Golden Girl would live forever.
She recently announced her plans for her 100th birthday celebration, then sadly passed away two weeks before it came to fruition.
There was speculation that the actress received the COVID-19 booster shot ahead of her demise, but her agent and close friend, Jeff Witjas, dispelled the rumors. Betty died peacefully in her sleep at her home,” he told PEOPLE.
Witjas urged people not to politicize Betty White’s death. “People are saying her death was related to getting a booster shot three days earlier, but that is not true. She died of natural causes. Her death should not be politicized — that is not the life she lived.”
In a recent interview with Page Six, White’s Mama’s Family co-star, Vicki Lawrence revealed that the cultural icon’s last words was her late husband’s name. “I texted Carol [Burnett] and said, ‘This just sucks. I hate this. It’s just horrible to see the people you love so much go away,’” Lawrence, 72, shared. “Carol wrote back and said, ‘I know, I know. I spoke to Betty’s assistant, who was with her when she passed, and she said the very last word out of her mouth was ‘Allen.’”
