Do you think Beyonce was in the writer’s room for this episode of Netflix’s Selena: The Series?

Netflix’s Selena: The Series was met with mixed reviews because Selena Quintanilla’s story was iconically told in a 1997 biopic portrayed by Jennifer Lopez.

The first half of the two-part series focused on the late Tejano singer recording her first English album.

The second part gives fans more of an insight of her life after fame and fans couldn’t help but notice an interaction with Selena and one of the biggest names in Pop music today.

“Adding the moment Beyoncé and Selena crossed paths in the series was cute. A lot of folks don’t understand the influence Selena had on us Texans. Spanish speaking or not. We loved her,” one fan tweeted to emphasize Selena’s influence on non-Hispanic Texans like Beyonce.

Many fans wondered if the scene was added for dramatics, but from the looks of the MTV tres interview below, it really did happen.

“But I didn’t say much to Selena because I wasn’t a celebrity and I just say her and said ‘hello’ and kept it moving. Definitely, growing up in Texas, I heard her on the radio,” she said. “I think she is a legend and I admire her. And she was so talented. So I’m very happy that [I met her] even though she didn’t know who I was. I’m still excited that I got that opportunity.”
