A white cop pulled Lil Yachty over and the 21-year-old rapper insists that the unwarranted harassment was racially charged.

“Wow a white cop really just pulled me over just to ask me for the bill of sale on my car because he didn’t believe it was mine,” he tweeted Tuesday afternoon. “I didn’t do anything wrong. He literally just doesn’t believe it’s my car.”

Lil Boat didn’t indicate where or what he was driving at the time of the incident. But it’s safe to assume that he was able to present the requested documents and keep it pushing.

This incident is a prime example that money and fame don’t protect Black men and women from being racially profiled by police officers. Thankfully the Quality Control rapper had proof of ownership or else he could’ve been the next hashtag. But this probably would’ve never happened at all if he was white.

On a lighter note, Lil Yachty celebrated turning legal with his annual Birthday Mix on Soundcloud. It includes a never-before-heard material with Chief Keef, Trippie Redd, Gunna, YoungBoy Never Broke Again, and more.
