The tweets have also begun to change, insinuating the worst fate for the artist. The hashtag has evolved from RIP DMX to Rest In Peace to many either not believing or expecting it to be true.
On April 8 the Twitter hashtag began a series of madness between reality and rumors. Fans began to Tweet and wonder if this tag was real. Because of the constant updates and uproar, the community had manager Steve Rifkind issue a statement via Instagram.
The Instagram caption states “DMX is still alive but he is on life support.”
The clip says:
“Everybody, please stop posting with these rumors. DMX is still alive. Yes, he is on life support, but please. It’s not helping anybody by seeing these false rumors. Let the family relax for a night.
“You will be hearing a statement from the family sometime tomorrow. I’ve been with DMX for the past three years, so the only thing I ask is just to stop with the rumors. He is still alive and he is still on life support.”
With the confirmation that DMX is still alive fans have begun to calm down. For now, many wait until decisions have been finalized and the statement from the artist’s family.
