Basketball icon Michael Jordan made a record-breaking $10 million donation to the Make-A-Wish organization for his 60th birthday.
This is the largest individual donation that the foundation has received in its 43 years of existence.
“For the past 34 years, it’s been an honor to partner with Make-A-Wish and help bring a smile and happiness to so many kids,” the sneaker mogul said. Michael Jordan hopes that his donation inspires others to follow his lead and help brighten the lives of those kids whose wishes have yet to come true.
“Witnessing their strength and resilience during such a tough time in their lives has truly been an inspiration. I can’t think of a better birthday gift than seeing others join me in supporting Make-A-Wish so that every child can experience the magic of having their wish come true,” Jordan said.
According to the organization, Michael Jordan,59, has granted hundreds of wishes for children worldwide.
Jordan has been a Make-A-Wish partner for years, he’s also one of the most requested celebrity wish granters.
