Nick Cannon made an emotional announcement on his daytime talk show on Tuesday morning. He revealed to his audience that his 5-month-old son, Zen, has passed away. Cannon and Alyssa Scott welcomed Zen back in June, making him Cannon’s seventh child. He shared “We went in to check his sinuses, they actually said his sinuses were pretty cool, but by that time we found out he had another condition,” Cannon explained. There had been fluid building in Zen’s head and the family was made aware of a malignant tumor that required immediate surgery. After a few weeks, the condition worsened over Thanksgiving weekend.

But things took a turn for the worse at Thanksgiving. “Ultimately, it was cancer in the brain and the tumor began to grow a lot faster. And so we knew that time was, before getting choked up. “This weekend I made a valid effort to spend the most quality time I could spend with Zen. We woke up on Sunday I got to spend the weekend with him and I woke up on Sunday and was like, ‘I feel like I want to go to the water.’ We got a chance to go to the ocean.” He died later in the day.

Cannon said  “Not only did we get to see the sun rise, we got to see the sun set.”“You can’t heal until you feel,” he said of continuing on with the show. “This is a special show dedicated to my beautiful son.”
