STARZ announced the renewal of the show “Power Book II: Ghost” has been renewed for Season 3. The official news came on Tuesday (December 7) via a statement from its CEO Jeffrey Hirsch.”The continued success and cultural resonance of the Power universe is unprecedented, and fans are clearly still hungry for more Power Book II: Ghost.”We’re excited for the third season of the star-studded series to get into production early next year just ahead of the debut Power Book IV: Force, the fourth installment in the rapidly expanding franchise.”

The show’s executive producer Courtney Kemp will step down as showrunner going into the third season after she signed a deal with Netflix. While former Empire showrunner Brett Mahoney will take over for the third season. The move comes after the Season 2 premiere broken the ratings of the first-season premiere, with the show ranking as the No. 1 cable telecast among Black households, according to Starz.
According to Kemp, viewers will see many characters’ limits be put to the test through the remainder of the season.“A lot of people are making the ultimate sacrifices,” creator Courtney Kemp told POPSUGAR. “There are some people who are going to push themselves into areas that they never would’ve expected.
50 cent recently confirmed another spin-off is in the works titled Power Book IV: Force. The new series will follow Tommy Egan as he leaves New York and heads for Chicago after Ghost’s death, 50 Cent grabbed two of Chicago’s biggest stars Lil Durk and Jeremih for the theme song.
