Quvao is set to honor his late nephew and Migos member Takeoff with his heartfelt song “Without You” at the 65th annual Grammy Awards.
On Wednesday, Feb. 1, the lineup for this year’s in Memoriam segment was announced by the Recording Academy. This segment pays tribute to those who have passed away recently.
Takeoff, legally Kirsnik Khari Ball, was fatally shot at a bowling alley in Houston, Texas last November. The murder suspect, Patrick Xavier Clark, was arrested the following month and has been released on bail. He is expected to appear in court in March.
Last month, Quavo took to Instagram for the first time since the death of Takeoff to share his song “Without You” which he wrote to remember his nephew by opening up about how he’s been coping with the tragic loss.
Quavo, 31, will be performing this song alongside Maverick City Music choir at the illustrious ceremony this Sunday at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles.
