Saweetie just dropped her newest single, “Icy Chain” produced by Dr. Luke, who perviously produced the song  “Tap In” and  “Best Friend.” She will perform the song “Icy Chain” as a guest on Saturday Night Live for the first time this weekend, with Simu Liu as the host. In the video you see Saweetie rapping“My hair, my money, come bundle/I spent your rent on my frontal (Yeah)/Bitches see me and get humble/Could take your n*gga but I don’t even want to (Hmm),” She sings on the track’s first verse. As she twerks for an Icy Chain” on the chorus.

Saweetie‘s also released the song “Get It Girl” to the new Insecure soundtrack, and arrives alongside her Bruised film soundtrack  starring Halle Berry, Bruised, called “Attitude.” The movie tells the story of an MMA fighter, who, after reuniting with a son she had given up for adoption years ago, attempts to return to her former glory in the ring.

When addressing the delay of Pretty Bitch Music, Saweetie revealed that she felt the project was “a body of work with no soul.” Here’s to hoping she’s able to find the words she wants to say and put them into her debut album before it’s finally ready to be heard by the world”.

In a recent interview with Hunter Harris for Vulture, Saweetie explained, “When I was put in the position to work with [Dr. Luke], it was a bundle deal.” She continued, “I had those songs for over two years. So what do you think? Do I compromise my artistry, do I keep them in the vault, or do I release them?” When asked whether she’d work with Dr. Luke again—following “Tap In” and “Best Friend”—Saweetie eventually replied, “Hopefully, we keep ourselves out of any controversial situation in the future.”

Saweetie is set to perform during the 2021 Jingle Ball Tour, with her first date on the trek taking place on Dec. 3 at the forum in Los Angeles.
