Noah Schnapp has a lot more in common with his “Stranger Things” character than we thought. He posted a TikTok on Thursday (Jan. 5) revealing to his audience that he’s gay and he received an outpour of love from family and friends. Lip-synching along with another creator’s viral sound saying “You know what it never was? That serious,” with a caption in the video saying “When I finally told my friends and family that I was gay after 18 years, and all they said was ‘we know.'”
In the light-hearted caption under his post, the 18-year-old wrote, “I guess I’m more similar to will than I thought.” Referencing a scene from the fourth season of Stranger Things, in which his character, Will Byers, confesses his feelings for Mike Wheeler, his best friend. Scnapp told Variety, following much fan speculation about the scene, “It’s 100% clear that he is gay and he does love Mike.”
Noah Schnapp previously made headlines after his exchange with Doja Cat where the singer asked him to set her up with Joseph Quinn. Doja, unpleased with this, goes online to label what Schnapp did as “borderline snake sh-” because he did not reveal that he would be sharing their conversation online.
Schnapp went online and apologized to the singer, “Everything is all good I apologized and I still follow her and love her music,” he wrote on TikTok.
