Back in 2015, Travis Scott was still just making a name for himself but still low profile. That all changed when the romance between him & Rihanna began to stir and then was outed during a cover interview with Complex.
Jonah Weiner came on Lawrence Schlossman and James Harris’ Throwing Fits podcast and revealed he was the one who exposed the rapper’s fling.
Weiner was a former writer at the outlet and was asked to keep La Flame’s relationship with Riri under wraps, but he published it anyway. “I broke the news about him and Rihanna, which they told me not to do,” Lawrence explains. “Apparently, what LaPuma (Complex Editor Joe)…told me was that it hurt Complex’s relationship with Travis. This was in 2015/2016, I wrote this. But apparently, for the next couple of years, he would complain about that.”
Weiner gave a shady explanation as to why Travis Scott might have been salty. “It’s not because he’s like, ‘Don’t tell anyone I’m smashing Rihanna,” Jonah says. “It’s because Rihanna’s like, ‘Don’t tell anyone that I’m smashing Travis Scott, please.’ [It’s] obviously embarrassing as f**k.”
