After a slight delay, A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie released the highly-anticipated project, Artist 2.0 on Valentine’s Day this year.
A year before the Bronx rapper released his third studio album, he spoke exclusively with Two Bees TV about the makings of the collection and more.
At one point in the interview the host, Miss2Bees, asked him to weigh in on music consumers favoring melodic songs over lyrical ones. A Boogie has a rap partner, Don Q, who isn’t as commercially successful as him but he releases bangers that are packed with bars to keep the streets motivated. But unfortunately, that’s not what the people want.
“He know it too … I hate that sh*t because when I first came out everybody seen that I was trying to put words back into music but even now a days it makes me want to dumb it down for fans because they don’t care no more for real,” he said. “So you might as well dumb it down sometimes and mix it in at least that’s what I’m trying to do right now.”
