Alicia Keys Faces Backlash for Paying Homage to XXXTentacion

XXXTentacion is undoubtedly one of the most controversial artists in recent years. Some view him as a musical genius, meanwhile others view him as a woman abuser. Alicia Keys caught heat from the latter team after she posted a video of herself and her son playing one of the late rapper’s songs on social media.

Keys uploaded a video on Twitter with her son Egypt as she did a rendition to XXX’s “What Are You So Afraid Of.” She also co-signed him in the caption. “Such a vibe!!” she wrote. “Big love to the talented @xxxtentacion !! Gone too soon.”

A number of Alicia Keys fans was not feeling her gesture considering that the “sad!” rapper was accused of assaulting his pregnant ex-girlfriend, although he was never convicted due to his untimely death. “This ain’t it Alicia,” one person commented. “Oh man alicia . we believed in you,” someone else posted.

Alicia Keys ended up deleting the video hours later. Check out the video below:
