Ashanti Show Canceled After Reportedly Selling 24 Tickets

Ashanti may have a large social media following, but apparently that isn’t enough to get people physically in the stands.

The Murder Inc. singer was scheduled to perform at Stony Brook University’s Back To Brook event later this month. But as per Bossip, that show was canceled after they sold only 24 tickets to the show.

An announcement from the school read, “As an organization, we do our best to host programs for students while providing diversity and inclusion. However, we have struggled to execute certain aspects. With a week before the concert, only 24 tickets are sold to students.”

The school went on to explain they originally had Teyana Taylor for the gig, however she pulled out last minute, leaving the coordinators to scramble to find Ashanti as the headliner.

Ashanti is right now working on a a joint album with Ja Rule.

“We’re gonna carve out the time and make it happen,” she said in June during an interview with ET. “It’s so funny because we’ve been talking about that for so long, but I think now he’s like ‘OK, now it’s time to do it.’”

Hopefully she has better luck with album sales.
