Beyoncé Partnered With the NAACP And Donates $500K to people facing eviction

Beyoncé is giving $5,000 grants in partnership with the NAACP to people facing eviction during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Queen Bee, in a partnership between her charity initiative BeyGOOD and the NAACP, is now accepting applications for the 1st round of grants. The 1st round give 100 families or individuals up to $5,000 each! Applications opened Thursday, January 7, and will close on January 21, while the second round of applications will open in February.

First announcements were made on the BeyGOOD Instagram profile in December. The post was a statement reading:  with a statement reading:

“This holiday season while many are stressed with what they will do next regarding their housing, we are proud to share some GOOD news. Beyoncé is giving $5k grants to individuals and families facing foreclosures or evictions.”

In addition to the post, the NAACP has released a statement as well on the application website. The NAACP states that they are “committed to helping ensure African Americans maintain their wealth and financial security.” They are making the grant for the ” unprecedented time of COVID-19.” They continue to express how honored they are to “partner with BeyGOOD to provide financial support to families or individuals who are facing eviction and/or foreclosure.”

The grant comes in perfect time after the relief stimulus check that was issued for only $600. Furthermore, the grant comes after many have been reporting that have not yet received their stimulus check.
