Billie Eilish Says Megan thee Stallion Deserved to Win

Billie Eilish won big at the Grammys on Sunday night, accepting the Record of the Year award for the second year in a row for her song “Everything I Wanted.”

Additionally, the singer beat out Megan Thee Stallion who was nominated as well for her remix with Beyoncé, “Savage.” So, when she was announced as Record of the Year winner, Billie Eilish is seen shaking her head and covering her face with her hands.

“This is really embarrassing for me,” she said when she made it onto the stage.

“Megan, girl… I was going to write a speech about how you deserve this,” she goes on. “But then I was like, ‘There’s no way they’re gonna choose me.’ I was like, ‘It’s hers.'”

The young singer addresses the Stallion while saying, “You deserve this.”

This isn’t the first time white musicians had to acknowledge the Recording Academy awarding them over a more deserving Black artist. Despite her loss, when Megan thee Stallion was asked if she thinks the award show was rigged, she denied it.

What do you guys think about the Grammys? Are they rigged? Could they be racist? Let us know in the comments below.
