Bow Wow caught wind of the backlash he received following a performance at a packed Houston club amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
Attendees were seen in the video not social distancing or wearing masks.
The rapper defended his actions claiming that he wore a mask until he performed his 2005 hit single, “Like You” featuring his ex-girlfriend, Ciara. “Man I been hosting parties all last year. I wore my mask in the club. I can’t host with that thing on,” he wrote in one tweet.
It is worth noting that Houston bars and clubs are allowed to operate under certain circumstances. So the issue isn’t only with the artists getting booked.
“That’s the thing IT WASN’T MY PARTY. But of course ima get the blame,” he shared in another tweet. “I don’t want folks thinking I don’t care ya know…”
Bow Wow added that he was tested for COVID-19 “twice” and “Keep sanitizer on me at all times.”
Do you think artists should turn down or not accept bookings amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic although some economies are allowing social gatherings?
