Brandy joins the cast of ABC’s Hip Hop drama pilot Queens starring Eve and Naturi Naughton.
ABC is assembling a star-studded cast for their upcoming drama pilot, Queens, starring Eve, Naturi Naughton, and now Brandy.
The show is about four estranged women in their 40s who were once apart of a 90s Hip Hop group called Nasty Bitches who reunite to relive the glory years.
Brandy will portray Naomi, who was known as Xplicit Lyrics, the skilled musical engineer of the group. After the group split she was hoping to go mainstream, but she’s playing at small venues where fans only request her old work. After reuniting with her old squad, she reconnects with the love of her life and the rival band member who stole him from her. On the other hand, she wants to build a connection with her daughter that she was never there for.
Just like Eve, Brandy will perform original songs for the show as Naomi.
There’s no tentative premiere date for the pilot, but we’ll keep you updated on all things Queens related.
