The first trailer for Disney/Marvel’s highly anticipated blockbuster Captain Marvel has dropped. Brie Larson stars as Carol Danvers who winds up one of the universe’s most great legends when Earth is in a galactic war between two outsider races, and she gets herself and her partners in the middle of the frenzy. The film is set for release on March 8, 2019.
Captain Marvel takes place in the 1990s — take note of the Blockbuster Video store in the mystery’s first casings — a formerly concealed period in the historical backdrop of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Chan is Minn-Erva, a Kree geneticist and spy who has powers like Marvel/Danvers, per the comics-verse.
Larson was on Good Morning America from the Smithsonian’s National Air and Space Museum in DC today to assist in launching the trailer.
Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck produced Captain Marvel from a script by a writing work group that consist of Boden and Fleck and additionally Meg LeFauve, Nicole Perlman, Geneva Robertson-Dworet, Liz Flahive and Carly Mensch.
